There Is An Issue With Switch Firmware Causing Drain On GPU Resources

After some recent digging, it turns out that a pretty important detail was found on Digital Foundry’s FAST RMX write up. This find suggests that there is a small problem with the Nintendo Switch firmware that is currently in use on the console. Supposedly, this issue seems to be causing a rather slight drain on the system’s GPU resources. Once fixed, this problem will most likely disappear and will also increase the system’s performance.
“From what we understand, there is a small issue with the current firmware on Switch which causes a slight drain on GPU resources – once corrected, we’re told that Fast RMX should sustain a full 1080p in docked mode.”

“That’s all the info I received on the matter. Sounds like it’s a minor thing but interferes slightly with the adaptive resolution feature. I wouldn’t expect huge performance gains in games like Zelda or anything.”
